Jay Ort
Jay Ort,
Received BS in Geology from University of Idaho in 1962. Industrial Hygienist at The Martin Co., Wichita, KS (1962-1964) Technical Advisor for The Zia Co. at NASA's White Sands Test Facility for the Apollo Project (1964-1966), beginning of the Mars Mission Discussion. He founded Biosustems, Inc. (Roswell, NM 1966-1970), to begin Algae research for the purpose of recycling and producing Air, Water, Food and Energy; to generate an income through wastewater consulting work throughout the State of NM. In 1970 Biosystems merged with ERA (Ecological Research Associates), Inc. which concentrated on the Wastewater Reclamation Algae Production (W.R.A.P.) This system used algae to treat sewage. In 1974 he started designing and developing Methane from Livestock Waste and in 1977 he was granted a patent for his technology. He worked for Pennsylvania DEP as a professionally licensed hydro-geologist and retired in 1997. Since retirement he has continued his study of algae.

, Kharagpur, worked for Mahindra Group of Industries, Bombay developing Solar Panels. He has fourteen years of expertise in Chemical, Electro-chemical and Metal vapor deposition industries for Industrial Customers like Hercules, Boeing, Siemens, Cessna, UK and Thomson-CSS. Professor Das has been teaching Engineering Courses for the past 11 years. He is also an Engineering Consultant to several Chemical and Metallurgical Industries in USA.
Jeffrey B. Otto
Jeffrey B. Otto, P.E.
has a broad education and diverse employment background with almost 30 years of experience. Areas of expertise include project development, energy engineering, and procurement and construction management. He has had direct involvement in the development, design, engineering, financing and construction of industrial projects including wastewater treatment plants, paper mills recycling waste paper and energy projects utilizing biomass as fuel, landfill, natural and digester gases, biomass, and refuse derived fuels. Recent projects in alternative energy include the design of biodiesel facilities using feed stocks derived from camelina and Jatropha seeds and algae (photosynthesis and heterotrophic). Mr. Otto has public utility experience including management of interconnection, tariff and regulatory issues for major industrial accounts and the marketing and sale of wholesale power. He is experienced establishing equipment configurations for industrial processes and power generation and has performed environmental permitting, governmental interface, incentive program analysis, financial, technical and marketing evaluation of new technologies/patents and projects and provided business planning, budgeting, QA, O&M and training program development. His education includes MS degrees in both Environmental Engineering and Engineering Management and BS degrees in both Mechanical Engineering and Agricultural Engineering.
